Are you ready to join us? About the Role Valo Health is seeking a talented and highly motivated scientist with significant expertise in compound management to join the Drug Discovery group at our Lexington, MA research center.
The successful candidate will play an important role in advancing the drug discovery pipeline and have a passionate desire to progress new medicines for patients while working in an innovative and fast-paced small company environment.
What You'll Do Manage compound management workflows including compound registration, weighing of compounds, DMSO reformatting, liquid-liquid plate transfers and archive storage.
Work closely with cross functional chemistry, ADME and in-vitro-pharmacology teams to coordinate compound registration activities to delivery of assay-ready plates maintaining rapid cycle times.
Manage instrument vendor relationships and assist in troubleshooting the automation and software platforms.
Organization and maintenance of consumable supplies to ensure interrupted operations.
Interface with Valo's discovery software platforms to manage compound registration, assay requests and curation of compound inventories.
Manage compound management CRO relationships and external compound inventories, orders, and shipments.
Assist chemistry technology and data science teams in the procurement of vendor purchasable compounds and building block reagents.
Work with automation and software engineers to continuously advance and integrate novel compound workflows to support emerging scientific needs.
Keep abreast of contemporary compound management practices and provide business case arguments to adopt new technologies.
Assist the analytical sciences group in performing compound QC.
What You Bring Minimum bachelor's degree required in a scientific discipline with 3
years of relevant experience.
Ability to work independently and cross functionalize in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
Extensive experience in operating and troubleshooting compound management automation platforms, liquid handling, periphery devices (i.
e.
, tube sorting/2D barcode scanning) Liquid handling scripting, automated workflow scheduling and software programming are major pluses.
Familiarity with HPLC and LC-MS platforms would also be a plus.
Exceptional organization skills and detail orientated approach to planning and executing at the bench.
Documented sustained performance and accomplishment as well as demonstrated technical proficiency, scientific creativity, independent thought, and ability to effectively collaborate with others, add to project strategy & deliverables and participate in decision-making.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
