Summary:
Great in-house opportunity to join a small, growing legal department at KSQ Therapeutics, a pre-IPO biotech company as Senior Director, Intellectual Property and General Legal.
Reporting to CFO and being a member of the Executive Committee, this will be a highly visible and highly valued role as the legal department helps KSQ bring products into clinical trials, enter into strategic alliances, and finance its future business opportunities.
This role offers the opportunity to work closely with management, outside counsel and cross-functional research and development teams.
This is an outstanding position for an attorney with 8-10 years of experience.

This role will encompass both IP and General Legal duties ( 50:
50 split) including:
Manage, develop, and drive the company's global IP portfolio and strategy in line with the company's business goals, , including drafting, filing, and prosecuting a global portfolio of patent applications, using both in-house and outside counsel resources Work closely with R&D teams to identify and protect new IP opportunities, monitor and analyze competitive IP, conduct and analyze patentability, infringement, and invalidity searches, review data disclosure/publication requests, advise and educate on IP-related matters.
Draft, review, and/or negotiate contracts across all departments of the company, including:
supporting business development activities advising on aspects involving the use, transfer, ownership, or publication of intellectual property Provide legal support for business development activities, such as due diligence, transactional work, patent license negotiations, and business and research collaborations.

in life sciences with significant work experience in biotech/pharma Registered to practice before the USPTO Immunology, oncology, and cell therapy background or experience a plus 8
years of patent preparation and prosecution experience working with internal or external company clients in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry Experience with both offensive and defensive patent filing, prosecution, and litigation strategies General Legal:

years general legal experience (can be in the form of in-house experience) Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of intellectual property concepts, principles, and practices Negotiation and development and management of contract strategy and execution Maintaining and continuously improving contract templates Collaborating with Business Development on contract strategy for collaborations with industry and academic groups Drafting, reviewing, and/or negotiating contracts across all departments of the company, including Collaboration Agreements, Master Services Agreements (MSA), Confidential Disclosure Agreements (CDA), Material Transfer Agreements (MTA), Consulting Agreements, and Contract Research Organization/Contract Manufacturing Organization (CRO/CMO) Agreements General:

from an accredited law school with an active license to practice in at least one state Strong communication and time management skills, the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, and the ability to effectively collaborate with other functional support groups and lines of business.
