Job Description:
Client is seeking a Software Engineer to support web application development for the processing and display of realtime XML data streams. The candidate will implement both back end web application
services
as well as web front end visualization displays. The candidate must be experienced in software design, development, integration, testing, documentation, and maintenance. They must be able to work independently and efficiently with little guidance but operate and communicate well in small teams (2-12 people), while being able to tackle challenging technical problems.
Special Skills/Requirements:
Experience developing web application front ends using OpenLayers
Experience developing or integrating RESTful web services
Experience developing Java applications for realtime (or near real time) processing systems
User Interface (UI) and/or User Experience (UX) design
Experience developing service oriented architectures
Experience with J2EE, JDBC, JSP, Apache Accumulo
Experience with agile software development practices & tools
Experience with Linux, Eclipse, Maven, and Matlab a plus
US Citizenship and holds an active Secret clearance
Bachelor of Science degree in
computer
Science or Engineering
5-7 years of software development experience
Expertise with Java development and common design patterns
Expertise developing web application back ends using servlet containers such as Apache Tomcat or Jetty
Experience developing web application front ends using Javascript
Experience developing Java applications utilizing XML data formats
