Job Description:
Candidate will use his or her experience and technical skill sets to assist in the development and maintenance of a private cloud-based secure computing environment.
Typical tasks will include:
a) Coordinating with developers, IT administrators, and management to develop policies to enable secure, usable computing.
b) DevOps support and/or evaluation utilizing Puppet, Salt and/or related tools.
c) Provide advice for USTRANSCOM with respect to secure computing and modern IT practices.
d) Researching technologies and industry best practices to provide a roadmap for the future.
e) Provide support for users of the secure computing environment.
f) Presentations to internal and external audiences.
Special Talents: Candidates must have the following background and
Experience:
a) Linux/Unix operating systems and development experience
b) Strong familiarity with virtualization concepts
c) Java development tools (Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, Nexus, Git)
d) Self-motivated and able to work in a collaborative setting
e) BS or MS in Computer Science, Information Science, Engineering, or related field
f) 1 to 3 years of directly related work experience, project or research work
g) Ability to maintain a US DoD security clearance
h) Occasional travel to St. Louis
Experience and/or coursework in the following areas are strong pluses:
a) VMware vCenter, vCloud Director, and vCloud Automation Center
b) Monitoring and logging tools
c) Software development on a team project
d) Windows operating systems and development experience
