Description: The Advanced Sensor Systems and Testbeds Group designs hardware components and investigates advanced signal processing techniques to support the next generation of optical and radio frequency sensors. One current research area in the group focuses on the improvement of high-frequency (HF) over-the-horizon radars. Hardware and software advances have enabled greater functionality of these systems. Flexible software-defined hardware components, i.e. software-defined radios, are expected to improve the ability to insert new capabilities into HF radar systems.
Will participate in development and analysis of advanced radar systems using real data. Candidate should be familiar with adaptive beamforming, detection, tracking, and target classification algorithms. Familiarity with over-the-horizon radars, and ionospheric phenomenology are a plus. Work will involve data analysis, sensor system design, planning and execution of data collection efforts, and preparation of material for communication to sponsors.
Requirements:
PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering or Applied Mathematics is required. In lieu of a PhD, a Master's degree with 5 or more years of directly related experience will be considered. MATLAB programming experience is strongly desired. This position will draw upon one's written skills and ability to interact with sponsors.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
