Field Engineer

Job Description

  • Provide oversight of daily field operations and construction progress while ensuring proper construction site safety and quality control standards are met.
  • Provide oversight of construction contractors to ensure that projects are completed according to plans and specifications that meet all applicable standards and codes.
  • Develop comprehensive understanding of project strategy and commitments including scheduling, logistics, phasing, milestones, inspections
  • Work in partnership with PM to maintain an updated and accurate project schedule that reflects the changes in project status and that meets the cost and time requirements of the project
  • Provide construction progress reports to the project manager and provide administrative support necessary for project completion.
  • Demonstrate and maintain effective and open dialogue with the project team and building occupants regarding changes in work, job conditions, contractor relations and any deviation in the direction of the project
  • Promote positive relationships by dealing expertly and fairly with all general contractors, subcontractors and vendors while instilling this philosophy in the project team

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience preferred
  • A minimum 10 years experience in the construction industry
  • OSHA 10 Certification:
    OSHA 30 is a bonus.
  • Understanding of the design and engineering of construction projects
  • Knowledge of construction activities including material, equipment, cost and time requirements to perform construction tasks
  • Knowledge of construction codes
  • A broad understanding of all facility engineering disciplines and building trades
  • Demonstrated capabilities in presenting ideas written and orally are required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
  • Selected individual must possess ability to climb portable and permanent ladders, stairs, staging, work in confined areas, crawling over and around equipment and pipe found in mechanical rooms and similar locations.
  • Knowledge of various OSHA regulations such as:
    LO/TO, confined space, fall protection, wearing of PPE, etc.
    is required.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
