Group 99 Integrated Systems and Concepts
The Integrated Systems and Concepts Group specializes in the rapid development and demonstration of innovative optical system solutions to address difficult challenges facing the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, NASA, and other U.S. government entities. The group maintains broad expertise in electro-optical and infrared sensors, charge-coupled devices, focal plane arrays, ground/air/space electronics, image processing, video exploitation, and low size/weight/power optical communications systems. The group leverages this core expertise to architect, design, build, and deploy hardware and software systems in support of mission needs. Emphasis is on working closely with end users to develop enabling concepts and then building and fielding integrated systems on responsive timelines. The group seeks self-motivated engineers and scientists with multidisciplinary skill sets and a passion for prototyping systems that address critical national needs.

Job Description

Reporting to the Division System Administration Team Leader and the Group Leader, the Systems Administrator will provide systems and application administration, enterprise infrastructure engineering, and program support to the Integrated Systems and Concepts Group. They will support the research group s research computer systems, Linux systems, aid in computer server maintenance and support occasional field testing of program systems.

Required

  • BS and 2
    years in IT and Linux administration experience and knowledge required to manage, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain highly available solutions in an enterprise Linux environment.
  • Experience with Linux configuration management
  • Working knowledge of Virtualization technologies (VMWare ESX, Hyper-V, etc).
  • Networking and firewall management
  • Maintain regular contact with MIT-LL IT and security resources to rapidly reconfigure systems to remediate performance and security issues.
  • Ability to work on program-specific Linux & Windows configurations and systems administration
  • IT security certification preferred
  • Ability to work analytically in a problem-solving environment
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Willingness to travel infrequently (5%)

Competencies

Candidates must be able to work in a fast-paced work environment, be detail oriented, able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, execute project and administrative tasks at a high quality and work well with staff and management. Strong problem solving skills will be required to come up with innovative solutions to challenging problems.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
