Systems Analyst Information Technology (IT) - Lexington, MA at Geebo

Systems Analyst

The Systems and Architectures Group examines the current capabilities of and potential near- and long-term technology opportunities for air, missile and maritime defense systems to guide Department of Defense (DoD) technology investments.
The Group s impactful assessments have been delivered to Congressional committees and senior leaders in the DoD.
As a member of our Group, you would help develop the technology requirements for new systems.
The Group s recommendations often lead to new prototyping programs or changes in the government investment strategies.
Our sponsors include the Missile Defense Agency, Office of the Undersecretary of Defense (Research and Engineering), the Army and the Air Force.
We also collaborate closely with other Groups across the Laboratory, and other laboratories both inside and outside the government.

The Group is seeking a Technical Staff to contribute to and lead high-visibility system studies.
Assignments include systems analysis, algorithm development, and future architecture assessments.

As a staff member, you would analyze all aspects of defense systems, including sensors (e.
g.
radar, infrared, laser, etc.
) and platforms on the ground, air, sea and space.
We also develop and evaluate algorithms that enable these systems to perform search, track, identify, and intercept functions, and also inform decisions about battle management.
We assess how adversary systems and actions would impact U.
S.
air, missile and maritime defense systems and capabilities.
Leveraging our understanding of system performance, we propose new technologies and architectures to improve the nation s defenses, now and in the future.

You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to address a broad range of technical areas in air, missile and maritime defense.
Research will involve developing system-level simulations, mathematical modeling and data analysis.
We are looking for candidates with a demonstrated ability in a technical research area, and we will provide training in the above defense systems.
A successful candidate should have experience in software simulation tools, such as MATLAB.
As a staff member, you will routinely convey your research in a clear, concise manner to a wide spectrum of audiences.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or similar field.
  • In lieu of a PhD, an MS in the above areas with a minimum of 5 years of directly related experience will be considered.
  • Experience with systems analysis, missile defense, radars, or directed energy is strongly desired.
