Technical Staff - System Analyst 1

The Advanced Sensor Systems and Test Beds Group (Group 33) conducts exciting research in the development and demonstration of advanced sensor systems and command and control (C2) architectures for the U.
S.
Government.
The Group incorporates emerging technologies in sensing concepts, autonomy, distributed systems, signal and data processing algorithms, and open architectures into system design concepts, enabling innovative solutions to complex problems.
Major activities within the group include RF and optical system design and development, system modeling and simulation, signal processing algorithm development, experimental field testing and data analysis, and development of one-of-a-kind operational and experimental test assets.
The group believes in collaborative research and has expertise in multiple technical areas including adaptive sensor array processing, RF and optical systems integration and test, embedded programming, advanced real-time software techniques, signal detection and estimation, communications, and systems analysis.
Our technical staff members hold advanced degrees in electrical engineering, physics, applied mathematics, and computer science.
The group also conducts local, national, and international field testing and data collection to prove new concepts for real-time prototype implementation, experiment execution, and systems analysis.

Job Description

Group 33 is seeking a technical staff to contribute to the development of advanced system architectures for effective implementation of advanced sensing concepts.
These concepts may include centralized and distributed sensing employing active RF, passive RF, or optical techniques.
Candidate should have research interests in systems analysis, sensor data processing and analysis, or signal feature extraction.
Candidate will work on a diverse team to develop solutions to complex engagements involving varied participants associated with kill webs of surveillance, fire control, and weapons delivery platforms.
While engagement solutions can be developed in a laboratory environment, these solutions should be amenable to real time performance using modern hardware and software.

Early career candidates are strongly encouraged to apply, and if selected, will work with experienced group members to learn about our mission areas and identify career growth paths.

Required expertise:

PhD in Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
In lieu of a PhD, an MS in the above areas with a minimum of 5 years of directly related experience will be considered.
Candidate must be able to obtain elevated level of security clearance.

Desired expertise:

Knowledge and experience with design and analysis tools such as MATLAB or equivalent is necessary.
Candidates should have the ability to propose and explore new and innovative techniques, technologies, and concepts and be able to understand how these new technologies can affect and enhance existing capabilities and fill capability gaps.
