The Integrated Systems and Concepts Group specializes in the rapid development and demonstration of innovative optical system solutions to address difficult challenges facing the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, NASA, and other U.S. government entities. The group maintains broad expertise in electro-optical and infrared sensors, charge-coupled devices, focal plane arrays, ground/air/space electronics, image processing, video exploitation, and low size/weight/power optical communications systems. The group leverages this core expertise to architect, design, build, and deploy hardware and software systems in support of mission needs. Emphasis is on working closely with end users to develop enabling concepts and then building and fielding integrated systems on responsive timelines. The group seeks self-motivated engineers and scientists with multidisciplinary skill sets and a passion for prototyping systems that address critical national needs.


Job Description:

Group 99 - Integrated Systems & Concepts is seeking an IT System Engineer to join our team developing and demonstrating prototypes. Roles range from supervising junior staff in day to day operations, to being a key contributor in supporting critical infrastructure for high profile projects. The IT System Engineer will use mission and technology knowledge to provide agile support. The successful candidate is expected to learn new skills quickly while working with a diverse group of personnel.

Requirements:

Strong experience with Linux as a desktop and server OS, including provisioning, securing, and maintenance, with an emphasis on CentOS, RHEL, and Ubuntu.

Experience with virtual hardware technologies (specifically VMWare).

Programming skills (intermediate level) in at least one of the following languages:
Python, Bash, C++.

Strong debugging and problem-solving skills

Demonstrated ability to independently implement technical solutions:
research, propose, implement, debug, test, and document

Education- MS plus 3 years minimum experience, or BS plus 5 years minimum experience

Preferred Skills:

Work experience in mission critical environments is highly desirable.

Management of a private GitHub or GitLab server

Experience building and managing databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, Mongo, InfluxDB)

Web page development (Javascript, React, REST backends)

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
