Group 89 Quantum Information and Integrated Nanosystems Group

The Quantum Information and Integrated Nanosystems Group conducts quantum information science research from a shared foundation of innovative control-signal design, outstanding fabrication tools, and well-equipped measurement laboratories.
The group has a broad range of experimental and prototyping activities.
The group's quantum information science activities include the development of superconducting and trapped-ion qubits and quantum sensing with nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers in diamond.
In addition, the group has robust capabilities in classical superconducting circuits, complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) design and fabrication, and integrated photonics.
These component technologies are used in synergy with quantum information science demonstrations, as well as in standalone applications that include beyond-CMOS circuit technologies, energy-starved sensors, compact optical communication and laser radar transceivers, and microwave photonic signal processing.

Job Description

The group seeks a full time technician to perform wafer fabrication, metrology and testing tasks.
This will be performed in the course of process development, sustainment and execution activities related to various microelectronics process technologies.
This individual will perform these duties under the supervision of scientific/engineering personnel or technicians of a higher grade.
Must be able to work for periods of time without supervision.
Knowledge of semiconductor processing.
Duties include:
cleanroom attire and working in a clean room environment.
Following all clean room protocols.
Skill in working with manufacturing software systems, operate semiconductor processing equipments, handle chemicals used in the semiconductor wet processing, and handling of wafers.
Measure and inspect wafers using microscope and metrology tools such as; KLA thickness monitor, ellipsometer, profilometer, SEM etc.
Monitors, audits, and provides guidance to line operators if any anomaly is observed.
Documents issues observed during fabrication and / or inspection.
Notifies any issue immediately to process engineers.
Willing to learn and adopt new skills and methodologies from process engineers.
A strong commitment to support activities for on time deliverables.

Graduation from a two year day technical school or its equivalent and a minimum of two years of applicable experience are required.
Able to follow written operational procedures.
Good understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Office is desireable.
